More than a rapper, Obia Le Chef is a Haitian lyricist of Montreal. Recognized first of all for his prowess at the verbal battle of Montreal (WordUp!) and Paris (Rap Contenders), the artist stands out for the effectiveness of his lyrics and the atmosphere of his songs. His first 2 studio mixtapes, in collaboration with producer El Cotola, Le Process (2011) and Le Théorème (2013), have since been considered as cult projects by many specialists and fans of Quebec rap. 2016 was the year of Obia Le Chef's big solo comeback, making his "Paranoïa Vol.1" mixtape appear, in addition to sharpening his pen on Radio-Canada's flagship show "Plus On Est De Fous Plus On Lit" winning his six word fights. In 2018, Obia expects to demonstrate to the Francophonie that he is the veteran Chef with his first official solo album entitled Soufflette, a reference to this musical slap that he is about to inflict on the public and the industry on May 25, 2018 under 7ième Ciel Records. Soufflette is a Creole term for: Severe, sudden slap, which betrays strong emotion and response to an inappropriate or insulting behavior. This musical slap will feature King Heenok, Caballero & JeanJass at the mic, and High Klassified, Kaytranada, Freakey, Dumix (Planet Giza) and Benny Adam (Therapy2024) in production.
