Having met each other at the age of thirteen, Hani and Zue agreed to the fact that their two voices (that sound similar to each other) blend in perfectly well when combined. After much thought, the two decided to sing for the public as a duo. These similarities are also what complements each other, in a way that Zues contralto range fills Hanis soprano range.
Since then, the two have been working on the refinement of each others skills while slowly gaining confidence to share their music to the whole world. The duo started off by performing at school-levelled events and invited prom nights from schools all around the city of Petaling Jaya.
In the pursuit of experience, the duo started to engage themselves in open-mics and talent competitions, where they became acquaintances with many rising musicians. This led them to playing for private events and weddings. Hani and Zue provides a performance with the use of their two melodious vocals and a keyboard. At times, Hani assists by playing the guitar to complete their set. Colleagues ranging from bands to solo performers are invited to collaborate with them.
Moving onto YouTube, Hani and Zue started to actively post covers in the year 2013. The reason as to why theyd started to base themselves on YouTube was not for fame nor popularity, but for the need to share their renditions and for people to luxuriate themselves in the harmony they possess. Delightedly, their covers received tonnes of encouraging responses from the public even from the original composers of the songs.
After taking part in several talent competitions, their breakthrough moment came when they were announced as the Group Category winner of the FollowMe/The Star Rising Star Grand Finals following a standing ovation from judges Yuna, Atilia Haron and Sam from Bunkface. Winning the Rising Star competition proved to be an eye-opener of what they are capable of. The buzz around their win has led them to opportunities to work with several professionals from the local music industry. - Elfie Nazari
