Singer, songwriter, editor, producer, photograph and videaste, Diane Tell has been on the francophone music scene for decades. Independent and still very active, she lives in Europe but works in all French speaking countries of the world, especially in Quebec where she was born. She studied music at the conservatory of music of Quebec in Val d’Or and Montreal and at C.E.G.E.P. St-Laurent. She flew across the 80’s with 7 albums and many very successful songs like her classic Si j’étais un homme. In the early 90’s, she participated at the creation of two musicals in Paris : La légende de Jimmy by Berger/Plamondon and Marilyn Montreuil, a show for which she also composed the music. Since 2001 she initiated many original projects. She produced the album Popeline for BMG ; Les Louves, a series of 45 radio programs for France Inter in Paris ; a unique jazz album : Docteur Boris & Mister Vian and has worked with Serge « Farley » Fortin on numerous live and studio works in Quebec, the album Une, the latest best of Passé Simple and a new project due to come out in 2018. In 2017, her song Si j’étais un homme is inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame next to Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Neil Young…
