Fik's Niavo is an artist from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Born into a large family, he grew up in a working-class neighborhood in the town of Les Ulis (91). In the mid-90s, Fik's Niavo began his career as a rapper in a local group called "l'Amalgam'" (with Sinik and Grödash), then in the Ul'team Atom collective.
He is the founder of one of the first major battles/clash competitions in France: "dégaine ton style". A huge success in the underground scene.
In 2009, he founded the Kartier General label with p.kaer, with whom he released 2 projects (Fik's & p.kaer). Later, P.KAER will retire from music. Fik's Niavo will continue his solo career, and will even be joined by Templar, a member of the Ul'team Atom collective.
In 2021, Fik's Niavo co-produced with director Yveline RUAUD the documentary "Clasher l'ennui", which received rave reviews and extensive media coverage, including a tour of France.
His 1st real solo album, "Kitengué", is in 3 parts. Volume 1 was released in June 2023, with the rest to follow in Spring/Summer 2024.
This trilogy marks a return to his roots, both in terms of sound (boom-bap among others) and introspective character.
Collaborations include Templar & Grödash from his Ul'team atom crew, as well as other prestigious and rare talents such as Roce, JP Manova, Mysa and the great hope of the Kartier Général label: Cholo Loco.
Not forgetting Sheldon, one of the spearheads of the 75e Session label, and the chief surprise: a feat with 90s East Coast legends GROUP HOME (Gangstarr Foundation)!
Instrumentals are provided by renowned beatmakers on the independent French RAP scene:
Crown, El Gaouli, Itam, sarbacane,
DJ Shean, Gyver & Kay Hypman to name but a few.
