In 2008, Coming Soon released their debut album, New Grids, to much acclaim. The band has always followed its own singular path and multiplied collaborations with musicians they admire. They wrote two songs with Kimya Dawson (former bandmember of The Moldy Peaches) that was featured on the soundtrack of the film JUNO (directed by Jason Reitman). The next year, the famous french singer Etienne Daho covered one of their tracks called « Private Tortures » and released it on his EP called Pleased to Meet You.
Coming Soon’s sound has been in perpetual evolution and mutation : they explored indie rock and folk music on their first album, went electric with their second LP GHOST TRAIN TRAGEDY (2009), and ventured into electonica and pop by recording DARK SPRING (2012), the soundtrack of a theatre play created by Bruno Geslin.
After two years of creation and composition, they started recording a new album produced by Scott Colburn (Animal Collective, Prince Rama, Arcade Fire). They will release en EP called DISAPPEAR HERE in october 2013 and the LP in the spring of 2014. They describe the album as « an explosion of colors, a pop satori, a mix of psychedelia, insular science-fiction and esoteric kung-fu. An endless party. »
