Isang Enders has developed his career very rapidly and now enjoys wide recognition as a musician who has established a distinctive cultural profile, displaying his many talents as soloist, chamber artist, orchestral musician and teacher, from the music of the Baroque through the rich Classical-Romantic repertoire up to the newest music by emerging composers.
Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1988 to German and Korean parents both of whom were musicians, he proved himself a budding professional when he began studying with Michael Sanderling at the age of 12. Gustav Rivinius, Truls Mørk, and his particular mentor the American cellist Lynn Harrell all influenced his music in very different and often challenging ways.
Isang Enders was widely commended for his debut album "Mit Myrten and Rosen" with pianist Andreas Hering, which highlights the songfulness of his playing and reflects his early years as a boy chorister, and which addresses his mother’s origins through the works of Korean composer Isang Yun. His repertoire echoes his fruitful Dresden years and features some first recordings, notably with Schumann's complete works for cello and piano.
