Fabio Gaggianese, also known as DubGun, is one of the "children of the Turin music scene." Born in the mid-70s, he had the opportunity to enjoy, savor, and immerse himself in that musical scene, which was initially underground and then became mainstream, making Turin the Italian capital of alternative music in the mid-90s.
Not surprisingly, his first music project dates back to 1996. DubGun, together with his longtime friend Carlo Reposo, formed "Orate Fratres." The demo of this project was recorded in the legendary Casa Sonica by Max Casacci.
During those years, Turin offered a wide range of musical genres, and DubGun, in his artistic journey, felt the need to blend different styles. He started with punk, hardcore, reggae, and ska, playing bass and guitar, and later delved into electronic music and home recording, which were gaining more and more popularity in productions.
In 2007, after meeting M. Bellarosa, a guitarist and producer from Turin, a new project called Toska took shape. During this period, alongside the purely musical aspect, DubGun felt the need to create something more than just a song or an album. He wanted to develop an artistic concept revolving around himself, leading to the birth of DubGun Records, a studio and rehearsal space.
DubGun, the musician, gradually made room for DubGun, the producer, starting with some important remixes. In particular, the remix of "Give it to me" by Madonna in 2008 drew the interest of Madaski (Africa Unite), who created a dub version for Dub the Demon.
In 2009, DubGun won the Radio DeeJay contest "E' così facile remix" with MEG, and the track was featured on a compilation specifically produced for the contest.
In addition to his own productions, DubGun started offering his services to other artists and projects, collaborating on Alma's album (2013), Ska Beat Orchestra (2010), and mixing Popucià 2,0 by Popucià.
In June 2012, JUST A RIDDIM was released, featuring an instrumental track and five versions.
After a period in Rome, DubGun returned to his Turin and, together with his closest musical companions, resumed the musical journey that had been interrupted. New stimuli, new sounds, new beats. Turin, which had also undergone changes, led to an artistic pause that ended in 2020 with the release of D.U.E., the result of the historical collaboration with Nadya.
In 2021, "DISTANZE riddim" was released, an EP consisting of seven tracks that firmly establishes DubGun as a producer once again.
