Born March 18,1996 Nicholas Bartley, popularly known as ‘Fully Bad’ is a dancehall artist who is a native of Kingston, Jamaica. For the vast majority of his life Mr. Bartley resided in Cassava Piece/Bagga Lane where he discovered his passion for the performing arts at the age of thirteen (13) under the moniker ‘fada Nick’ with his classmates at Waterford High School. Prior to attending Waterford High, he began his education at Allison Basic School and then went to Zion Hill Primary both located in the Parish of Manchester.
In a collaboration with his former classmate (Stinga T), Fully Bad recorded his first official song called “School”. His talent began to gain recognition amongst the public in the year of 2015 after dominating all opponents in a friendly lyrical battle at the then popular “Unruly Clash” produced by famous recording dancehall/reggae artist “Popcaan”.
After a juggernaut display of his natural born talent, Fully Bad later signed to the always outspoken disc jockey/artist manager “Foota Hype” of Foota Hype Music. He then began to released a series of songs such as ‘everybody bad’, ‘Hard Life’, ‘Mama I’m Sorry’, ‘rich badness’, ‘millions’ amongst many other titles.
Whilst under the management of Foota Hype he became rivals with one of dancehall’s current superstar Javaun Fearon, also known as ‘Masicka.’ The rivalry was short lived and Fully continued to focus on his overall craft and decided violence was no longer an option. Another notable mention was Fully Bad’s surprised appearance at the 2019 staging of Reggae Sumfest, after being called out by industry friend and recording artist Shane E.
Fully Bad’s artistry can be best described as one which speaks on: progression, struggle, love, lust and reality. The ‘bad gad’ has made musical connections with producers and other industry mates such as, Shane E, I-Octane, Big Zeeks, Gappy Ranks, Destiny Sparta, Iamwav music, Dre King, Rans, Princevilla, Jstar, Skydon, Dj Slowmotion Andre ok, Triston Palmer, Jjwizzle amongst many others.
However, in 2020 a surprising announcement was made when both Fully Bad and Foot Hype (former manager) decided that it would be best for each of them to part ways and therefore an extension of contract was not met. Fully Bad has since then inked a deal with an undisclosed U.S based label.
Primarily focusing on music, Fully Bad’s hobbies include but are not limited to creating new music, social events with friends and devoting well needed family time. He like artistes before him and those to come share aspirations of International recognition from societies such as the Grammy’s, Billboard & International Reggae and World Music Award Society (IRAWMA). For as stated by the Fully Bad, “progress is my mission.”
